Emily Blunt is staring in a new movie called "The Young Victoria" which is opening this Friday... in limited engagement, and I'm hoping it will be playing at a theater near me.
Have you heard about it and are you planning to see it?
If so, I'd love to know what you thought.
Here's a little info on her life from Wikipedia:
Victoria ( 24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837, and the first Empress of India of the British Raj from 1 May 1876, until her death. Her reign as the Queen lasted 63 years and 7 months, longer than that of any other British monarch before or since, and her reign is the longest of any female monarch in history. The time of her reign is known as the Victorian era, a period of industrial, political, scientific and military progress within the United Kingdom.

Cori, I ADORE anything about Queen Victoria....but had not heard of this movie...however, I will MOST certainly check it out for this week-end.
THANKS YOU for letting us know about it.
Queen Elizabeth is getting a start on breaking her record I am thinking.
But have not checked to see how long Queen Elizabeth has reigned so far.
If she lives as long as her mother did..I have not doubt she will break the record.

P.S. I should have done this FIRST...just found this one GOOGLE.
Regarding Queen Elizabeth :-
Queen Elizabeth II became the Queen of the United Kingdom and the rest of the Commonwealth realms on 6th February 1952. She has been queen for 56 years and is currently still the reigning monarch. She recently became the oldest ever reigning monarch in UK and Commonwealth history.

This is the first I'm hearing about it and I'd love to try and see it...
OOOoooo I want that dress and the chair! Lovely. I just read your comment for my post today and it touched my heart. **sniff** I am so grateful my boy will be home this year, but I will always remember last year when he arrived in Iraq just before Christmas. I heard on the Christian Radio station, KLOVE about a program to assist families left behind in depolyment...I went on to donate and the young wife had trash bags on her list. Now how sad is that. Praise God for our military families. **kisskiss** Deb
Ohhhh, Ewwwww, Awwww, can you hear me sqwealing??? I did NOT know about this movie. And Emily Blunt is so pretty. I do hope it will play in my area. I wanted so badly to see Bright Star(is that what it is called?) that you told us about last time, but it never came to our theatres. Hmph! Now, I have to wait till it comes out on DVD, which I saw an advertisment for recently. Let me know if you see it!!!!
I have been awaiting this movie quite awhile.. I'm so excited! I love Emily and I'm sure it's going to be beautiful. I doubt it's coming to a theater near me, but I will find it!
She introduced the Christmas tree in England too didn't she (hubby's German heritage)?
Teacup Lane (Sandy)
Hi Sandy, I believe she did! I'm not sure if it was the tree itself or the Table top tree and yes, it had to do with Albert's German Heritage. They say she really loved him and I think that's very rare as far as the monarchy goes. She and Elizabeth 1 are my favorite queens.
Have a wonderful evening.
xoxo cori
I saw a trailer for the movie and I would dearly love to see it. I love that era.
