It's a different World...

I have to admit that at my age, going back to school is much different then I remember.
The kids all seem like children and me...an old lady, but I'm not letting that get in my way.
I remember when...
  • students carried pencils and note pads.
Now they carry laptops and you can hear the rhythmic click clack click of their fingers on the keyboards.

  • when instructors lectured and students took notes.
Now instructors lecture and do demo's while students take notes on their laptops and work on their computers while performing the different functions of the demo along side the instructors.

I remember when learning was simpler and life was less complicated...

IT'S A DIFFERENT WORLD!

It truly is a different world with the age of electronics we are in. I just read a verse in Ecclesiastes that I found interesting about thinking on the past...Ecclesiastes 7:10.
Beautiful photo Cori G!

Ecclesiastes 7:10 (NKJV)
Do not say,
“ Why were the former days better than these?”
For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.

Thanks for the scripture Ellen B. I decided to post it here just in case any one is curious ;-). As a new believer, Ecclesiastes was the first book in the Bible that I read. It's still one of my favorite OT books.

Oh Ellen, did you see that I didn't take the photo? It is beautiful, isn't it?

Yes...I do see that you didn't take the photo although I know you are capable of taking as beautiful a shot!

I'm in awe of you! Jer. 33:3 is a great reminder of the One who is our help. "Call to Me, and I will tell you great and mighty things which you have not known". I would be clinging to this one if I went back to school now. HAVE FUN!

Hi Pam, if you saw me this afternoon, sitting for hours trying to do the same thing you would not be in awe...you'd think I'd gone a bit daft in the head...LOL! But thank you and thanks for the scripture. Believe me when I say I'm clinging as tight as I can ;-).

I remember that too Cori. Now my niece and nephew have to lug around laptops and spend most of their school days in front of a screen. Do our children even know their teachers nowadays?

I think I would still hole a pencil and a pad and be annoyed with the clacking of computer jeys... but would get used to it over time - I would hope.

You are a brave amazing girl Cori!!

Always and forever you are!

Love, V

Yes, very different world. The part that bothers me the most..is when young children are with their family..say at a restaurant..and they are not talking or even "being with" their family, but instead ...playing on some electronic "baby sitter"...right at the table, and the parents are allowing it..... NOT GOOD !!
From the old school !
