Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

James 1:17

Looked at in context, this admonition from James can be taken to mean the existence of two gifts: the very act of giving, and the gift itself. James didn't believe in a passive, laid-back kind of piety. He was an activist. He believed that not only are all the gifts which come our way from God, but the privilege of giving in the name of Jesus is also his gift. I should approach life thankful for the privilege of giving and sharing in the work of God.

Good morning Cori! Thank you for your Sunday morning greeting. I love this verse in James and quote it quite often :0)
Today I finally have a day off! Good thing cuz I have been non-stop on the go for 5 days straight and I crashed last night after my responsibilities for Katie's birthday party were done...I went to my room, put ear plugs in while the party continued and went to bed :0)

The book of James is one of my favorites...I could read it over and over and over again...and I do! Maybe today I will read it again, since it's been a while, and I am curled up on the sofa with puppy love beside me, down with sore throat, cough, congestion and no voice! I must have the same bug that kept you on the sofa for Christmas.

It's alright, Pride and Prejudice CD is playing and the cottage is peaceful.

This is my first visit to your blog. It's delightful. Your Sunday morning greeting is inspirational. I would like to thank you for your expression of sympathy over the sudden passing of my husband. I should be back to blogging sometime this week.
With love,
Sweetie
