Fare thee well my Dinghy Friend!

 dinghy-2

Fare thee well my Dinghy Friend,

our summer adventures never did begin.

The dreams I had for all of us

turned out to be a bit too much!

Of summer days spent on the sea

I truly wished that’s where we’d be.

dinghy-1

But alas, my little Dinghy friend,

your hull was damaged,

we could not mend.

So off you went to another’s home,

I wonder if you’ll ever reach

the sand and the foam.

Oh my. I have been looking for a sweet little boat for so long.
They are so charming even with holes in them.
I saw one used as a kitchen counter top. It was darling.
I sure hope it went to a very good home.
Hugs

you didn't have to part with it.
A. Stand on end and add in shelves to make make a display cabinet.
B. sink partially into the ground and plant in it.
c. cut the bottom of the hull off and add a back too it. hang it on a large wall, instance wall shelves.

I'm sure there is more.
But I suppose if her new home is going to fix and make it sea worthy then that's great too.

I must admit, at first I thought you were dumping ME! HA! She is so cute and so is your poetry.

Ok Deborah's comment is funny! So many fun things to refurbish so little time. Love the sing song poem you created for the dinghy! The Penny Farthing is a very nice pub just 3 or 4 doors up from the Blethering Place Tea Room in Oak Bay. :0)
It was a hot day and we were thirsty from the gardens and a pint sounded better then a cup of tea...

Hi Cori!

Oh no! But maybe the dinghy is being replaced with a gypsy wagon that you yearn for? :-) Hope so!

Hugs, Pat

Left answers to your questions on my blog but thought I'd comment here, too.
The gardens are very doable in one day. You can even have high tea there if you want. The Penny Farthing has loads of stuff on their menu that is not fish :0)

juuussst sit right back
and you'll hear a tale
a tale by cori G
that started with some
curvy board
in the form of a lil dinghy

Dear Cori was a sailor girl
she had a plan in mind
the dinghy might need a lil work
But Cori's not the givin up kind...

Alas the dingy was so frail
the chance to sail swam by
if not for the beauty of cori's post
i probably would just cry

Now the little dinghys gone away
its memories Cori kept
its probably better anyway
cuz it wouldnt fit johnny depp.....

(the pirate couldnt swob that deck)

Oh My Rooty Roo!

There's no one that rhymes better then you!!!!
You are the QUEEN
of poetry and prose,
this I'm sure everyone knows!
How do you do it my sweet friend
time and time and time again?
for rhymes gently fall from your tongue like rain
enchanted we forever remain...
by your words of course!!!

Your little rhyme had my hubby in stitches as I sang it to him "Gilligan's Island style!"
He says, "who is this woman with all the talent?" I say, "she is my wonderful pontificating friend!"

Rooty Tooty Rhonda Roo,
I simply adore you!!!!
