Just a simple question...

Do my pictures look dull to you?
I post from my laptop, but many times at work I peek in on my blog and the colors look washed out and tired...
what do you see?

Hi Cory...I FOUND YOU....!
Yes I have to say they do look a bit "misty" for some reason. ~~Do you have a PhotoShop Elements or PSP program by chance? ~~ They can be sharpened and adjusted in those programs.

Morning Cori...I thought you just used some special photo affect to get this look....I have enjoyed it...to me it kind of fits with your vintage loves....I've wondered what you did to them.

I'm always surprised when I see my blog on my husband's laptop...even the layout seems different...

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for the comments...
Pam, I tried to make them look a little crinkled with some different brush techniques, but I think I need to try something different.

Rose, yes, I have Photoshop CS3. Some of my photos are so dark that when I try to brighten them I lose a lot of coloring so I go through a series of changing the intensity, playing with curves, and so many other crazy things to arrive at "misty." I like that word! It sounds so much kinder then lifeless and dull ;-).

Thank you and I hope you both have a wonderful day.

xoxo Cori

Cori, I think your photos are lovely. I thought you were using PS to create a "mood".

I was under the impression you were giving them a more antique look...

Dull? Never! Soft, yes. But pretty and interesting. And I have a gigantic enormous monitor (embarrasing to carry into Starbucks with my tower) so my wrinkly old eyes can see!

Well they do look a little faded, but I thought that was the intent.

I have a computer that is only a few months old and I know my pics always look darker on my laptop and my husbands laptop so I always intentionally leave mine a tad dark so they look right on other computers.

I think as people catch up and get newer computers then everything will look right.

How old is your computer? Maybe that's what's happening with yours?

I have loved the look of your photos Cori. I wish I knew how to do all that fancy dancy stuff. I still can't figure out how to put my name on my photos without it taking a 100hrs!!!

All I have is a laptop so I have no idea what it looks like on the Big guns! Unless I go to the library, and I haven't been in a while. I remember my blog looked so different on the library 'puters. I like the look on my laptop better.

Your camera can make a big difference too. I used to have a Kodak-bluck! Now I have a Canon and it's a world of difference. No more dark, fuzzy pics.

Cori, I almost forgot...those stacked rose china dishes on my blog are very special to me because they are a few pieces from my mom's vintage collection that she gave me. I grew up admiring them on her vintage buffet, which is now mine too, so yes, if you want to give me the matching plates I would be more than tickled. You really really don't have to do that...but how sweet and kind you are to think to do so. I will truly be honored of such a gift bestowed upon me. Thank you darling friend. xo Fairmaiden

I thought it was a filter to create a mood as well. I think they all look fine. I think the composition is more important, and yours are a so well aimed and at the right angle, they are beautiful. I do see a difference on the laptop. It could be individual screen settings wreaking havok. I love your blog mood you create with the photos.
