Babbling & other Nonsensical Stuff

pixie-pantaloons-3

It’s almost impossible to imagine that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Can you believe it? Neither can I!

Hubby and I decided to host the holiday in our weence little cottage, but we have a small problem…where do we put everyone?  Our dining room table is from the civil war era and pulls out to be about 8 ft. long only there’s no span for the center.

Ah! My dining room table is a tale in itself that maybe one day I’ll share with you all. It’s the prettiest little thing made of the richest cherry wood with a huge base and scrolly legs.

I just ran away for an hour or two, but now I’m back. Babbling about Thanksgiving made me realize that hubby was going to build a mock span for the table so I had to leave to help. (I just inserted these last two pictures…not intended for this post…and in case you’re wondering…no! That is not dust you see on my beautiful scrolly legs, it’s just a sprinkling of faerie dust so you can see the detail a little bit better)   ;-).

Miss Emily Pumpkinhead, who came out of hiding for Halloween decided to stay and visit for Thanksgiving as well.

And I decided to leave all my fun jars from Miss Vanessa’s Halloween party too. I thought that since they weren’t very scary and the colors are all “autumny” I would enjoy them a little longer.

It will be interesting to see how the wee ones do since there will be 2-3 children under the age of 4. My cottage is not what I’d call “child proof.” The exact opposite in fact. It’s been filled with cloches, glass jars, and every other breakable thing imaginable.

So, until Thanksgiving is over, I may be holding my breath ;-O!

Well, I think I’ve babbled long enough so I better get back to work…I have an entire cottage to clean, but I’ll be singing a merry tune as I’m dusting away the cobwebs and sweeping up the faerie dust. Oh! Or maybe I’ll listen to my favorite Christmas music.

Whatever you have planned for this weekend I hope it’s lovely!!!!

OH MY I love the labels or whatever those jars are...do you sell those ?
That is what we had to do with our table..that had the missing leaf's my husband made some....it works...especially when we have a tablecloth on it all the time. And the extra space on the top is wonderful.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for the complement on my little jars and sorry, but I don't sell them. They were some little labels I whipped up for a Halloween Blog party (except for the butterfly kisses) and I'm not willing to tear them apart yet. I have to ready them for Christmas ;-).

xoxo Cori

I just bet you will have a beautiful Thanksgiving in your precious cottage!!! And don't worry too much about the faerie dust. I am quite sure they left it there for good reason. :)

Blessings to you,

Andrea

You are going to have a delicious Thanksgiving in your cottage- just give the little ones noisy things things to put into containers and hopefully they will leave your stuff alone! I will be in Whittier at my MIL's. It is a long overdue trip. Blessing dear friend.

Love, Moorea

pixie pantaloons and faerie dust, you're too cute! OH! I vote for Christmas music! The Lost boys have held me at bay on the decor, but I tell ya, Cori, it's nibbling my brain, I wanna decorate for Christmas sooo bad! I am so mean to Thanksgiving. I just am. It's just a big ole dinner to celebrate the coming of Christmas.
(Lost Boys threatened to "tar and feather" any Christmas Tree that popped up for Thanksgiving night) Harrumph!
You're a brave one to leave all the shimmery shinys out if they are eye level-or hand level..but if the ratio of adults to kiddies is good enough, you will make it through relatively unscathed (except for maybe clumsy grownups, they factor in heavily around here)
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX!!!!
Rhonda Roo who ♥s You!!!

Oh Cori, I love your home, so cozy and warm. So cute-cute!!! I started putting up the Christmas Village yesterday. Technical difficulties...2 of the wee little halogen bulbs are out in the new houses and I had to order them on line! YIKES. I LOVE this time of year. ♥ ♥ ♥ Deb

I used to host Thanksgiving for almost 30 people in my small home, Cori. We added a card table at the end of my dining room table and we used our kitchen table as the children's table. I served a buffet dinner and set up a table of just food so everyone could make their dish and sit down, which saved table space. Don't worry, it will all work out and be fun! Have a very blessed Thanksgiving.
Hugs, Pat
