Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
JOHN 14: 1-5

Good morning Ladies,

As a little girl and young woman I read design magazines instead of magazines like Cosmo because my mother forbid them saying they were anti-marriage, anti-woman, and not something a proper lady should waste her time or money on. So design magazines it was.
When I first began blogging one of my favorite things to do was to see the insides of other women's houses and how they decorated them. As I continued to read my own home began to pale in my eyes and I started longing to have "What she had." But then one day I remembered that life is not about having the perfect home and accessories, but about living our lives for the Lord and sharing His love with those around us and preparing us for our eternal home with Him. After all, He said He goes to prepare a place for us.
Do you believe they are literal mansions or that He's just speaking figuratively?
I believe they're literal and am hoping mine has floors made of Rubies.

I hope you all have a lovely day filled with wonderful thoughts of Him.

Good morning Cori G! I memorized this verse in Sunday School many many years ago and it is one of my absolute favorites. I was so intrigued with having a mansion in heaven. I'm still looking forward to see what that mansion is but now in my older age I'm more looking forward to seeing Jesus face to face...
Blessings on your day!
P.S. I love rubies!

Beautiful Cori. "receive you to Myself" mmmmm...looking forward to that face to face. I think I've always believed in literal mansions. Mine would have LOTS of stained glass. :o)

Hmmmm, I actually never thought about if the mansions were real. Mine would need to be a garden with no walls, a giant pergola covered in vines for a roof, and my bed underneath a giant tree where birds sang loudly of the Glory of God. But it is heaven, so no bird poop! **blows kisses** Deborah

I believe they will be literal homes, built as a reflection of our relationship with Jesus. Not a reward, but based on how much we forsake the world and count the cost for HIM- it will be a spiritual reflection of our faith on earth. Does that make sense? I was trying to find the scriptures that talk about it like that, but I do not have time at this moment. I know one thing, I sure do need the Lord to increase my faith, or I'll be living in a shanty town! ;o)

Yes, I do believe they are real. So real.

In a manner of speaking, it is the tangible things of this life that really are not so real, for they will all fade away.

I love your post. It is so full of truth and life. Thank you, Cori, for such inspiring words.

God bless you this day!

In His Love,

Andrea
