O Lord, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches.
Psalm 104:24

I have found that a "walk in the woods" --time spent "communing with nature" - can sometimes renew and refresh my spirits more than any other activity. Our lives, especially if we are urban dwellers, become so hurried, harried, and fretful that it does us good to get back to our roots. These lie in nature, in the unsullied solitude, if only we can take time out to soak it in. Ann Landers often tells people to "wake up and smell the coffee." In a sense, that's what the psalmist is telling us here. Such communion with nature will wash our souls with a sense of what the Divine Artist through the work of His hands has done. The power and the silence of a deep pine forest, or the vast panorama of sea and mountains, can heal our hurting souls and bring balm to the wounds of our worried and baffled lives.

Taken from the book, "Today, Lord, I Will"

My thoughts:

A few weeks back our Pastor asked the question, "Where were you when Jesus found you?" I looked over at my hubby and thought "Jesus found him in the isle of a grocery store, while He found me walking a dirt path, through a deep pine forest, on a crisp cool morning in July." He finds us! He comes searching for us when we're searching for Him and sometimes when we're not!
Where did He find you?

He found me in one of my many pickles and I am so glad that He even bothered to know that I was lost.

This is absolutely the truth, which is why I garden. It is definitely my happy place. Hmmm, I am a cradle Catholic so I would say Jesus claimed me at my baptism.
Wishing you a lovely Sunday.

Intriguing...the grocery store aisle...makes my mind wonder. I KNOW I lead the queen's life and I also know my thoughts make me old....I worry about people today...so much HURRY, HURRY, HURRY...everything is geared towards how fast service can be or how much we can accomplish...we are so driven today...I think we really need to take the Sabbath more seriously...lay aside the electronics, be still more, learn how to be at peace with our families without being HIGHLY stimulated. Okay that is all...it seems to be burning in me... How will we hear God if we don't know how to wait and slow down? Okay maybe I wasn't completely done...but now I am done....great post. Although perhaps you could ask your hubby permission to share his meet and greet with Jesus in the grocery store... :o) Hope your week is grand Cori!

Hey Pam,

I don't know if you subscribe to the comments thingy, but just in case you do hubby was working in a grocery store where a guy had been witnessing to him. The guy told him salvation was a free gift and hubby replied, "NOTHING is free in life!" The guy told him to go look it up in his Bible- Romans 5:16. Hubby decided that if salvation was free then he wanted it ;-).

Hello Cori;

I really enjoyed reading your post. How true it is. I found the Lord one night with my Sister in law years ago, I am so blessed because of that.....

I was nine and in an old fashioned Sunday School program. Our young Children's Church leader had explained salvation many times, but one day it just clicked and after going through an understanding baptism program with the pastor, I was baptized on my 10th birthday! That Children's Church, Auntie Ruthie, came to visit us a few months ago. The fellowship was so sweet. I can only imaging how wonderful the fellowship will be at The Weeding Feast of the Lamb.

I feel like he has had me forever. I had polio when I was seven years old, and I could feel his strong arms even then.

I was lucky as the Lord came to me as a child and we have walked together since.
