For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

John 6:38

Jesus had discovered the real secret of soul satisfaction-- complete surrender to the Father's will. Because He rested completely in that commitment, He lived a serenity that drew others to Him.
J. Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), intrepid pioneer missionary to China and founder of the vast China Inland Mission, had this observation: "The real secret of an unsatisfied life lies too often in an unsurrendered will." When I encounter problems in my Christian life, I can usually trace them to a failure to submit my own will to my heavenly Father. This is my reason for my discontent and dissatisfaction. So often I sacrifice the eternal on the alter of the immediate, because my will is not conformed to my Father's. If only I could learn, once and for all, the secret of serenity and live my life in the attitude of surrender that Jesus modeled when He was here on earth!

I have a wonderful book about Taylor. I think I need to get it out and read again. Love his thoughts.

Beautiful Cori! We have so much to learn about our position in relationship with God through Jesus. When we become more like Jesus in how He responded to His Father's will in His life the closer we'll come to grabbing hold of the glorious new life we've been given. Glad you are back to the comfort of your home...

I love that Hudson Taylor quote. I am a bit partial for Hudson Taylor as I work with ministries ministering to the Chinese, and I will teaching some fiver year olds about Hudson Taylor at church next month...

Blessings.
