The Letter Q

Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.
Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.

Song of Solomon 8: 6 & 7

This is one of my favorite verses about the sustaining power of true love.
I remember when I first gave my life to the Lord
and read this book for the first time...
it took my breath away to read that a human could love so deeply
and then I found out it was really about
the Lord's love for me and my relationship with Him.
There are weeks when the only book I read is The Song of Songs.
It speaks to the inner most depths of a persons heart...
at least is does to mine.
