The Road Home

Last Sunday on our way home from Yuma we stopped at one of my other favorite resting places along the road. This is Summer's Past Farms. A place where you can spy bunnies dancing in the gardens and roosters roam free. Wheel barrels are planted with magical miniature Fairy gardens and all is peaceful and green. This is my idea of heaven on earth for there is nothing that speaks of the glory of God more than a garden.
Except for the sea.

The big red barn is home to the gift shop filled with seasonal items for the garden and home. Wouldn't you know my camera's battery died and I couldn't take any pictures of the Christmas decor with all the white twinkly lights and silver ornaments.

This is the soap shoppe where they make their own soaps and carry soap making supplies. They even hold soap making classes several times a year. Notice the door near the peak of the roof... Brambleberry Cottage has an identical one...hum, maybe I should buy a new wreath today in preparation of Christmas.

During the month of April the wire fence above is covered with sweet pea and towering sunflowers that create a maze that leads to a fairy garden and the barns front door.

Sweet hubby likes to spend his time outdoors while I wander through the shops in search of magical treasures. He always finds new inspiration for something to build for our own garden. I think this will be his next project. He is passionate about trestle tables and their construction.

Sweet hubby examining the construction of the bridge over the sweet little stream.
Maybe he'll build me one of these too.

The stream that bubbles and churns through the center of the garden.

"Room" dividers from one section of the garden to the next.

Hubby's favorite place to sit while visiting Summer's Past.

Summer's Past holds many events throughout the year including a Christmas Open House and a Fairy Festival in April. If you ever find yourself traveling down Interstate 8 it's the perfect place to stop for a hot tea and a peaceful stroll through the garden.

Dearest Cori, I tried to leave you a comment last week but it wasn't working. I just wanted to say that you're brother has a kind face and gentle spirit about him. Made me sad to know he has passed on...especially since you don't know the state of his soul. I do hope we will see him in paradise. I am very close to my brother. Though he has many many struggles throughout his life he knows Jesus as Lord and Savior and HE has lifted him out of many pits. But I have spent season's praying for his life. And he has come back and told me how thankful he was that I was praying because he almost died. Just made me cry and cry. So, I feel for your loss. It is also interesting that you are from Yuma. My Dad was born and raised there until about 10yrs. old. My Aunt was a well known artist there with her own gallery...Aura Mae Savage...do you know of her? Isn't it interesting how we have these things in common. It's probably why I feel such kindredness with you. I do send sympathy your way and encourage you to take the time to weep as needed. Bless you sweetly. AND this 'Summer's Past' place looks like a favorite place to go...The Fairy Festival, now that sounds magical!

Awww dang it I was hoping this was closer to us. You always have the best little hidden places and this is another one.

How lucky you are to have such a great husband to build you all sorts of cute things.

Hi Cori

Summer's Past sounds like such an enchanting place to visit. Doesn't it make you wonder how someone becomes lucky enough to own something like that? I would love to see the fairy gardens. I will ahve fun exploring their web site.
Glad you are home safe and sound. I'm praying for you and your brother.
Hugs, Pat
