Shortly after I arrived at work today you could hear thunder rumbling in the distance and I thought for sure it was going to rain, but when I left at 4:15 it was 102 degrees and blistering hot.
It seems the only way to escape this heat is to hide out in the back of my little cottage with the drapes tightly pulled around the windows and wait for the cool of the evening to settle in. Hopefully once the sun goes down I'll be able to open the doors and windows to let in the cool evening breeze.
I don't think I've ever understood the meaning of "Autumn." While the days are shorter they also happen to be hotter, muggier, and just down right uncomfortable. Aren't the leaves supposed to change color and the night air become cooler and crisper?
How I long for winter.

Oh girl, when the Lord lets me move back to my home in the Northwest you'll have to come up and visit in the Autumn and experience it there! :0)
what a great illustrator you are featuring here. I like his work...

Hi, I happened upon your blog today and really enjoyed reading some of your post. The picture you posted most recently is lovely. I hope it gets cooler for you in the coming days.

Hi, Sweet Cori...I know what you mean. Here in West Texas, we are having cool mornings and nights and it still gets up to 80 or so during the day. It is still much cooler than where you are, tho.
Nothing happening around my place except for getting clothes in order to take on THE CRUISE....so excited i could just spit...
Take care, love, bj

Wish I could send you some of our cool. It's supposed to be in the low 40's this week in the mornings. I don't really know if leaves turn pretty colors where you live.

It's still warm here too -- but I know the cool and then bitter cold weather will be here soon, so I'm enjoying it!

I'll be away for a week -- will check in when I get back!

Hugs, Pat

Girl, I wish you could have some cool and crisp autumn breezes. It's hard to close your eyes and imagine them when you are sweltering in the heat.
