Unearthed Treasures

Bits and pieces of dangly things.

Here's a peak at some of the treasures I unearthed from my closet the other day.
They're the prettiest shades of creams, ivory's, and off whites that would be perfect for embellishing pillows, but since hubby thinks he lives with too many pillows I'll have to find a different use for them. There was even a large piece of Irish linen with a thick crocheted edge and that gorgeous piece of green floral tapestry.

Wouldn't these be pretty as sleeves on a gown
or possibly trim around a pair of pantaloons?
Or maybe on a Christmas stocking.

Oh look! A crown!
Well, maybe it's not a real crown but my hat I wear to the Renaissance Faire.
Have you ever been to one? They're quite fun!
Tallulah decided she needed to model it for you.

There was also this lovely piece, but I'm not sure what it is. Is it a scarf or a collar?
Whatever it is the workmanship is beautiful!
There was much more in that little box that I found, but it's more fun to see a little bit at a time, don't you think?
Well, I've gotta run...the sun is shining and the garden is calling.

I hope you all have a fun day!

Hi Cori!

I love all of your pretties! Is that a mini cup with the bee on top? It is just precious. Is that crocheted piece one large piece? I adore it. I hardly ever find anything like that an the antique store I frequent. Sorry that your hubby won't let you have any more pillows but oh my goodness, I just wouldn't be able to resist! LOL!

Tallulah looks ready for that Renaissance Faire...actually she reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in The Taming of The Shrew!

Have a great weekend! Or see you at Pink Saturday!

Hi Deanna,

My little tea cup with the bee is a necklace that's about an inch tall. I just love it, but it's very fragile and I seem to bump it on everything :(. The crocheted pieces are all about 1 ft.- 18 in. long and anywhere fro 3-7 in wide. When my grand dad died one of my aunt's sent me this huge smelly box and these pieces where all waded up in a smelly ball. Yuck Yuck Yuck Yuck Yuck!

My dear sweet husband has to contend with 10 pillows on our bed and a great aunts crocheted coverlet that if anything happens to it he's dead meat :0! But I'll probably make pillows out of them anyway :).

I'm not doing Pink Saturday any more...boo hoo hoo! I have a class Saturday morning and just don't have the time, but I'll stop by and check out yours!
See you some time tomorrow!

xoxo
