Morning by morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; morning by morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

Psalm 5:3

What a difference the way we begin our day makes! When we begin it with God--as the Psalmist, David does here--we find the way opening before us "in a fitting and orderly way." The path ahead seems bathed in light. Our responsibilities are seen in proper perspective. Our strength is sufficient for the day--indeed, it seems to be multiplied as the demands upon us increase. Even our leisure moments seem more fulfilling and refreshing. And the evening of the day is bathed in thankfulness and praise.

Taken from my favorite devotional: Today, Lord, I will.
