The Letter Z

And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath
(for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him:

“ The LORD has sworn
And will not relent,

‘ You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek’”),

by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.
Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.

But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

Hebrews 7: 20-28

Good morning ladies,
Do you ever sit and think about the story of Melchizedek? I love to sit and ponder this mystery...who was he, where did he come from? A man with no lineage. Was he our Savior and Lord or just a priest? There are so many wonderful mysteries hidden in God's Word and my prayer for each one of us would be that we would take the time to sit quietly before Him and ponder the deep things He has hidden in His Word.

Have a lovely day ladies and don't forget to stop by Pam's blog Grey Like Snuffie to find more verses starting with the letter Z.

Oh Cori, your comment made me smile this morning. I do love how much I learn through Beth Moore but she cracks me up sometimes.
Wonderful post today...I have always been a pondering soul but the ABC's just awakens my spirit each week.

"since He always lives to make intercession for them." That is amazing to me.

Pray you have a grand day with Him!

This is a part of scripture that confirms to me that my Molokan friends are off the mark by not giving Jesus his place of honor. There are other scripture passages that scream this, too. Have a wonderful day Cori!

Blessings Cori...Christ, our High priest...I love this verse you shared the most:
But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
